VDay

Look what John got me for Valentine's Day!
Sweetheart

Theme - influential person

OpenDiary's Theme this week is: What person had the most positive influence on you when you were growing up?

I think parents are an obvious influence. That's the easy answer.

The harder answer, and the one I am reluctant to admit, is that there were a few of my friends that may have had a bit more influence than my parents. For instance, my friend Ericka who was three years older than me. She was the leader of our little group and any of us would have followed her off a bridge if she so chose. Fortunately, I grew out of that. But it took me until I was about sixteen to do so.

My ex friends Brynn and Jesse have had a great deal of influence on me over the years. Mostly negative to my emotional development. To quote a silly teen movie, Mean Girls, they are “life ruiners”.

Finally, my friend Sarah had a tremendous amount of influence on my life. Hers was mostly positive though. From the descriptions above it looks like I needed that, eh? : ) She was two years older but most of the time it didn’t seem that way. I still joined a lot of the same clubs as her in high school and whatnot, but I think we each did an equal amount of leading and following.

Valentine's Day Survey

In honor of pagan holidays here is a *Valentines Day Survey*

Have u ever had a boyfriend on Valentines Day: yes, practically every year since I haven't been alone for more than a few months since I was 13.

Was your first kiss on Valentines Day: Mmm, no.

If you haven't had ur first kiss yet, do u want it to be on Valentines Day: N/A

Do u get flowers or chocolates or balloons from your boyfriend on Valentines Day: I've gotten a half a dozen roses once. I think that was it.

What do u usually do on Valentines Day: Treat it like any other day.

What was ur favorite Valentines Day so far: Like I said, it's usually just like any other day so I really can't think of one.

Have you ever regretted something you did on Valentines Day: What is that suppposed to be implying? Okay, you got me. I have a VDay regret. Actually this is an "all holiday" regret. My JW friends and I would yell down the halls at school as everyone left to have a merry easter or some crap like that. We'd just use any holiday that wasn't actually happening that day and be obnoxious about it. Okay, it's not a regret. I don't regret it at all actually. : )

Is your Birthday on Valentines Day: No.
Do your parents or friends ever get you anything on Valentines Day: Nah. I once got a flower from my dad on my parents' anniversary.

In one word describe Valentines Day: commercialized
Do u go to a Valentines Day dance at your school: Never have.

Do you even celebrate Valentines Day: Not really.

What is the most romantic thing your boyfriend has ever done for you on Valentines day: Umm, bought me a condo. ; )

Whats the most romantic movie youve seen: The Notebook

Whats the most romantic TV show or episode of a TV show youve ever seen: some of Dawson's Creek could be quite good.

Have u ever took a Valentines Day Survey before: You mean "taken"? No, I don't think so.

Have you ever gave somebody a Valentines day gift: I don't think so. This year I got John something but it's no big deal and it probably won't be here until a couple days after v day.

Have you ever gotten a note or a flower or something from a secret admirer: yes, but it was just one of my guy friends being nice.

Have you ever tried that online dating thing: I've filled out the surveys and stuff at places like eharmony but they said that I wasn't compatible! Kinda funny though cuz John isn't either.

Have u ever dated somebody from online that you didnt know: No.

Have you ever had someone sing a love song to you in public: Does the car count?

What did you do or what would u do if somebody did sign a love song to you in public: I'd find it charming. But I'd be a little embarassed

Do you want to be married on Valentines Day: No. That's so stereotypical.

How about get engaged on Valentines Day: No. See above.

Oops

Well, I never finished it up. Oops. That's okay though. You weren't reading anyway were you? Didn't think so. I've got to remember to email John the link to this new blog. I'm just screwing up left and right. Love you honey!

Okay, enough sentiment.

Breakfast is in about twenty minutes which is good since I'm starving. Work is quite boring today as I suspect it will be for the rest of the day. I want to go home, have Sarah and Paul come over, and magically have a new license and social secruity card.

Since my name changed back to my maiden one I haven't gotten my new cards yet.

Well, I hate to make this such a short entry, but work calls. I'll write more later!

Superbowl

Okay, so the superbowl wasn't that bad. It was actually kind of interesting. At least it was a close game so that it was a bit more exciting. And I did recognize some of the names I heard on the radio this morning thanks to watching the game.

What was weird is seeing my boyfriend get so into sports. It seems so against what I thought I knew of him. It’s not a bad thing per say, just different and unexpected.

You know what the monty python boys always say? “Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!”

I hate to make this such a short entry, but I’m heading to breakfast with Val and Cheryl. I’ll finish this up later.

Here, truly, there be dragons. --Stardust
